Teacher Science Academy - June 18 - 20, 2008- Texas Agrilife Extension and Texas A & M University System hosts the first annual Teacher Science Academy at the Texas 4-H Conference Center. This 3-day workshop will help you to ignite a passion for learning and success for your students. The curriculum include GPS for classrooms, Aquatic Science Education, Plant & Garden Science, Rainwater Harvesting, Entomology and Soil Science. Particicpants will earn 18 hours of SBEC and TEEAC credit. Enrollment is limited to the first 40 applicants. Early registration due by June 4, 2008.

Adventure Challenge '08 -- What are your plans for this summer? Maybe you want to join the 4-H Conference Center for "The Great Rio Frio Adventure "! This week-long adventure challenge camp will allow participants to explore and experience the natural wonders of the Rio Frio! Click here for information and tentative agenda. Registration will open on 4-H Connect December 15! This will be a two-part process requiring you to submit a $100 non-refundable deposit and then submitting the final payment via 4-H Connect by May 16, 2008.
Two sessions will be offered: June 1-7 is for youth ages 14-18 and June 8-14 is for youth ages 9-14. The daily activities will be the same, click here for a tentative schedule (subject to change depending on weather and river conditions).

County Camp session I, July 1-3 is NEW!! Teens ages 14-18 may register for Teen Extreme Camp and experience Outdoor Living Skills and Aquatics to the max! Activities to include Challenge Course, Outdoor Living Skills, kayaking and sailing trips on Lake Brownwood, Rifle and Archery extreme and evening fun and games and of course, nightly dances.
County Camp Sessions II, III and IV offer the tradtional camping program for youth ages 9-18. These activities include swimming, environmental education, dance, crafts, archery, rifle, canoeing and evening activities.
All camp registrations are to be completed on-line, using 4-H Connect http://texas4-h.tamu.edu/4hconnect/index.html. First time users must first create a profile and be assigned a member identification number. If participant is not a 4-H member, please contact us at dlocke@ag.tamu.edu
Registration on 4-H Connect requires two steps. Step 1 is to submit a non-refundable deposit to secure place in a particular camp session. Step 2 is to pay the final balance. The due date for final payment varies with each camp session, that information is contained on the 4-H Connect registration site.
4-H membership is NOT a requirement to participate in County Camp. Contact our office if you are not currently in 4-H and want to register for camp.
