WHAT IS COUNTY CAMP?

County Camp allows youth of all ages (9-18) to camp at the Texas 4-H Conference Center at one time. Groups are housed together in the dorms (by gender) unless it is specified differently on the registration form. Individual youth are housed where space is available.

NEW!!!! County Camp I, July 1-3, 2008 will have two concurrent sessions, one for teens, ages 14-19 with a focus on Outdoor Living Skills, Outdoor Education and Aquatics! We'll develop teamwork and communication skills on the Challenge Course, sailing and kayaking on Lake Brownwood and taking Rifle and Archery up a notch! Our evenings include fun and games and dancing the night away over in the Leadership Lodge. At the same time, we will offer our traditional County Camp experience July 1-3 as well for youth ages 9-13. Sessions II, III and IV offer the traditional county camp experience for youth ages 9-19.

Campers will experience team-building and communication skill development through their participation in Challenge Course activities, canoeing, rifle, archery, swimming, dance, environmental education and other camp activities.

Who May Attend
County Camp participants are defined as a youth who has completed 2nd grade or is 9 years old through age 18. Clover Kids (ages 5-8) or other youth under age 9 and have not completed 2nd grade will not be allowed to register for County Camp.
