2009 CAMPS AND PROGRAMS AT YOUR 4-H CONFERENCE CENTER

Thanks for a great summer camp program! Congratulations to our summer staff Interns that worked many long and memorable hours to provide a safe, wholesome camp environment for some 1,200 youth!

What's next?

Upcoming Leadership Retreats!!!

Teen Retreat, January 8-10, 2010 for 4-H members ages 13 and older (apologies for misinformation in letter). This weekend leadership retreat will feature new 4-H projects, service activities and evening entertainment! The featured workshop for 2010 is "Fasten Your Seat Belts... 4-H is Fun!" the newly revised Recreation Curriculum. Participants will play all weekend, learning to facilitate games and activities and how to reflect on the learning that takes place in those activities. It will be a fast paced, high energy series of concurrent workshops. Wear comfortable clothes and "GET READY TO RUMBLE!"

Register on 4-H Connect November 15 - December 28. Youth registration is $120, Adult Chaperones $80. Counties must provide Adult chaperones at a ratio of 1 Adult per 8 youth of the same gender. Counties may collaborate together to supply the appropriate number of chaperones.

4-H Connect Registration requires identification of Adult chaperone, so get busy NOW determining who will chaperone your youth. The 4-H Center can NOT hold youth retreats without proper adult supervision. Counties not supplying adequate adult chaperones will be billed for that service.

Adult Chaperones please notice -- to be housed in the dorms with youth you must complete a Child Protection Course. If you have completed the course within the last two years, please let us know on your 4-H Connect registration. If you do not know if you have completed the course, please contact us and we'll do some research. If you know you have not completed the course and want to do it before arriving on January 8 (this is preferred) please follow these instructions for the on-line course.

Release Forms -- each participant, youth or adult, needs to complete these forms and bring them to camp. Please, do NOT mail the forms in advance.

Packing list -- EVERYTHING you need to know about what to bring and what to leave at home is in the 2010 Parent Handbook. All Teen Retreat participants must supply their own linens for a twin sized bed in the Dorms.

A partnership with Bunk1 lets you e-mail your son or daughter at camp. Check out camp photos.

Adults serving as Chaperones in the Dorms must complete a Child Protection Training Course
