TEXAS 4-H CONFERENCE CENTER GENERAL INFORMATION

The Texas 4-H Conference Center is located on the western side of Lake Brownwood on a plateau overlooking the lake. On site nature trails and roadways permit short walks suitable for gentle to challenging tastes. The terrain in the area is flat to sharply dissected, with numerous rocky outcrops on the steeper hillsides. The slopes are rocky and covered with scrub oak and native plum thickets. Local wildlife such as deer, raccoons, chaparral birds, and wild turkey are numerous in the area.

The Texas 4-H Conference Center is owned by the Texas AgriLife Extension Service, a part of the Texas A&M University System. The 78 acre conference and retreat center, located on Lake Brownwood, opened in April 1975 and is in operation year round.
